                          Dinner at BISTRO WAGON ROUGE

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   BISTRO WAGON ROUGE

Awesome atmosphere of a Classic French bistro, down to the Ricard-branded trays for clearing & serving drinks.

Not pictured below were three types of tartines (spreads on chunks of baguette) that we also ordered to start: smoked trout, pork rillette, hummus, and olive tapenade. Also on special were oysters & escargots, which we didn't try.

Pretty fantastic for a first visit -- so happy to have them as a local East Van option.

Companion restaurant to the famous Red Wagon brunch place. Hence the name & the sign.

Bellerose beer, with the right glass, no less.

Octopus appetizer. With potatoes & fennel.

                                Steak tartare appie.

La Chouffe on tap. Again with the right glass.

                                Ling cod main.

Moules et frites. In a curry broth.

Beef cheeks Bourgogne - served with fried gnocchi.

                                The Cassoulet.

A special - celeriac risotto, ordered for the table. Both light tasting & creamy at the same time.
